Leading the way to a safe, sustainable energy future through lithium

Lithium is now central to the global energy transition, and Latin America holds the world's largest reserves. The "Lithium Triangle" formed by Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina concentrates as much as 85% of global reserves. New Energies Bolivia 2024 was created to show the world how this resource can power the energy sector efficiently and responsibly.

The inaugural edition was an online international seminar dedicated to sharing academic, technical, and commercial knowledge from across the lithium industry. Over the program, leading international experts presented and exchanged ideas under two themes — Lithium Production and its Applications, and Developing Batteries — while opening commercial opportunities and connecting key players across the sector.

Organizing partners

The event was convened by AV Consult Bolivia together with the Chemistry Department of the Universidad Autónoma Tomás Frías (UATF). AV Consult is an international consulting firm dedicated to attracting investment that advances emerging economies and industries. UATF is recognized departmentally, nationally, and internationally for its commitment to academic excellence and social relevance, and brings more than two decades of brine research to the partnership. Together they created a forum for the public and private sectors to exchange ideas, knowledge, technology, and best practice around the sustainable industrialization of lithium — advancing knowledge transfer and energy integration across the region.
